Thales prime contractor for future SOCRATE NG network (EN)

lundi 16 juillet 2007, sélectionné par Spyworld

The French defence procurement agency (DGA) has selected Thales at the beginning of 2007 for the preparation of the future SOCRATE NG* military telecommunication network.

Thales will act as prime contractor of the consortium that also includes Orange Business Services, Alcatel-Lucent and consulting firm Cogisys. One year from now, the project team will submit a technical and financial proposal to the DGA for the development, production, deployment and the support of the SOCRATE NG network. Deployment is scheduled to begin in 2010.

The SOCRATE NG programme will provide the French military with a complete end-to-end service for peacetime and crisis. The proposed solution must combine the best possible organisation structure, technical capabilities, contractual terms and financial arrangements.

Building on its successful experience with the current-generation SOCRATE network and access networks, including the access network in service with the French Air Force, Thales has further consolidated its leadership as a prime contractor and integrator for secure, complex telecommunication solutions.
